LOL the chicken wearing necklaces is hilarious...I mean it's sad they shot it, but then again why's it any worse than chickens we eat and buy at markets? Just because you're not seeing the chicken die makes it "ok"? =0/ Besides, Buddhists are supposed to NOT kill anything; just doing the test is kind of against the whole point. I saw this guy with protective tattoos claim he was invincible, and he had himself chopped with a sword, and it cut him badly...LOL....I seriously doubt they "work."

i believe the idea of the amulets are similar to the sacramentals in the catholic church ...In catholism of course the medals and crucifixes are not consider to have power of their own but everything relies on faith ..would you please explain me why some buddish monks bless people with water ..like the catholics do with HOLY WATER ..thank you .

This is a bastardization of buddhism. Buddhism teaches AGAINST the use or need for magical talismans and relying on objects for magical "protection. The culture here has created a hybrid sort of buddhism (just like zen or tibetan buddhism) which has a belief system rooted in the use of amulets...and obviously they don't do anything
